How to guide

Planting with intention

Your seed paper has been handmade with care and contains real seeds, so planting it is part of the experience. There’s no rush; nature works in her own time.

You will need

  • A plant pot, hanging basket, or garden space
  • Compost or soil
  • Water
  • A little patience

Step 1: Prepare the soil

Fill your pot or chosen space with compost and gently level the surface. The soil should be loose, not compacted.

Step 2: Gently moisten the soil

Give the compost a gentle watering so it is softly moist. Think of this as preparing the ground, creating the right conditions before planting your intention.

Step 3: Plant your intention

Take a moment with your affirmation card. Read it slowly, reflect on its meaning, and, if you wish, plant the affirmation in the soil now. Next, place the seed paper gently onto the soil or affirmation card, letting it settle naturally.
There’s no need to rush; this is a moment of care, presence, and trust.

Step 4: Cover with care

Gently sprinkle a thin layer of compost over the seed paper, just enough to lightly cover it. There’s no need to press down; the seeds need light, air, and space to grow.
As you cover the paper, imagine the affirmation being held safely beneath the soil, protected and supported as it begins to take root.

Step 5: Water and nurture

Using a fine spray or watering can, gently water the soil until it is moist but not soaked. Think of this
as a soft rain rather than a heavy downpour; enough to awaken the seeds without disturbing them.

Step 6: Let nature work its magic

Place your pot somewhere warm and bright. Germination times vary depending on the seed mix and the season, so be patient; growth takes time. If you wish, you can cover the pot with a clear cloche or a loose layer of clingfilm to help retain warmth and moisture. Remove once the first shoots appear.

A gentle note

Each piece of seed paper is unique, just like nature itself. While the seeds have been chosen with colour and harmony in mind, every bloom is a little surprise. Trust the process and enjoy watching your garden grow.
